Comprehensive Sound Survey

Noise Solutions also offers a Comprehensive Sound Survey (CSS) that consists of a continuous monitoring procedure at a specific impacted location or affected resident dwelling to determine whether a facility is in regulatory compliance for industrial noise.  If a CSS or NIA is requested by the local regulator in response to a noise complaint, the operator must comply. Unlike the NIA, a CSS is a less detailed approach to analyzing noise and will not determine what the exact noise sources are or the mitigation steps needed to attenuate them.

Because of the cost and limitations of the Comprehensive Sound Survey, facility operators are strongly encouraged to request a NIA, which is more cost-effective, efficient and provides greater detail and practical benefits for addressing industrial noise problems.
